The town of Sisters, Oregon was formally established in 1901.  Today it is a bustling town with an 1880's theme in honor of it's history. The 1880's theme was established as part of it's zoning ordinance in the early 70's.  Since then the businesses have been designed to meet the zoning ordinance criteria making the town a fun place to visit.  Sisters is also known at the Gateway to the Cascades which is a title befitting the city today.

Sisters is famous for the Sisters Rodeo, an annual event held every June.  It  began in year 1941 and because of the purse, it became known as "the biggest little show in the world" and now draws many famous cowboys to the event. "A History of the Sisters Rodeo" presented by the 1990 Sisters Rodeo Association, written by Association Member, Dr. Bonne Malone is well worth reading.
